Dear Friends,

Alzheimer's is an invasive and debilitating disease that has robbed so many

of us of precious years with our loved ones. After lovingly caring for the most

wonderful woman I've ever known, my mother, for ten years and now my aunt,

her darling sister; I can tell you that I know first hand the pain, sorrow, and

devastation that this disease can inflict upon loved ones.

For me, this road was probably not as devastating as it is to many others.

You see, God was with me every step of the way with my mother, and he is with

me now taking me through the care of my Aunt. Before I brought my mother

to live with me and my husband of only one year at the time, the two of us

prayed for the means to be able to take on the responsibility.

I don't believe that either one of us knew what was involved, but the Lord did.

So when I brought her home, I faced the task of finding someone to care for

her during the day while I taught public school. I did the only thing I knew to

do, I prayed. Let me tell you, the Lord opened doors that I knew nothing of.

One of those doors he opened was at the Lauderdale Lakes Alzheimer's

Care Center.

Too make a long story short, I just want you to know that I was able to send

my mother there during the day while I worked for less than ten dollars a

week. How was this possible? Through the love of God and donations of

people who care, that is how. That is why I am asking you to go to the

llacc.org website and give today. Because of the generous giving of others,

I was able to take my mother out of a convalescent home, and bring her to

the loving home of familiar voices. For those of you who already find

it in your heart to give to organizations like Alzheimers foundations, thank you.
